How this website handles information, as it works today.
Who we are
This website is operated by SkillonX Edtech Private Limited, the company behind SlidesOnX.
What this site collects
Browsing the site does not require an account and the site does not set cookies for tracking. We do not use advertising or marketing trackers. Like most websites, the servers that deliver this site may keep standard technical logs (such as the page requested and the IP address) for security and operation.
We collect personal information only when you send us a presentation request or an institution enquiry, as described below.
Your theme choice
If you choose a light or dark theme, the site saves that choice in your browser’s local storage on your device so it can be applied next time. It is not sent to us.
The presentation viewer
When the viewer is available it remembers your place in a presentation, and your choice of bright-room display, in your browser’s local storage, on your device only. It is not sent to us and does not follow you to other devices. You can clear it by clearing your browser’s site data.
Presentation requests
If you send a presentation request we collect: your name and email address; the subject and topic you need; and, only if you choose to give them, your university, programme, branch, semester, module, institution, your role, a web link to a syllabus or reference, a date you would like it by, and any notes. If you arrived from a search or a presentation, we also keep the public subject, module or search words that were filled in for you. There is no telephone field and no file upload.
We use this to review your request and to contact you about it. The SlidesOnX team reviews requests by hand. A request is not an order and does not guarantee a presentation, a delivery date or a price. We give each request a reference number so you can quote it to us.
Institution enquiries
If you send an institution enquiry we collect your name, work email address, institution, role and message, and, only if you choose to give them, your city and state and a telephone number. Please do not include student records or other personal data about students. We use this to review your enquiry and to follow up with you.
Notifications
When we receive a request or enquiry we may send our team a short notification and may send you a short acknowledgement with your reference number. These are service messages about your submission, not marketing. We do not subscribe you to any mailing list, and there is no marketing consent on these forms.
Spam protection
To keep the forms usable we check submissions with a hidden field, a short-lived signed form token and a limit on how many can be sent from one connection. For the limit we keep a keyed (hashed) form of your network address for a short time; we do not store your address in your request.
Who sees it, and for how long
Submissions are visible to the SlidesOnX team members who handle them, and are stored by SkillonX Edtech Private Limited. We keep internal notes about how a request or enquiry was handled; these are never shown to you or to the public. Our working assumption, which is not yet confirmed and is not a legal requirement, is to remove personal details from a closed request after about 12 months, and to delete a closed enquiry after about 12 months. Anything that was never closed is removed after about 24 months without activity. Backups may keep copies for a short additional time.
Your choices
You can ask us to correct or delete what you sent, quoting your reference number. A verified contact address will be published on the Contact page before this is relied on; until then there is no confirmed way to send us a message other than the request and enquiry forms.
Analytics
The site can count visits and clicks in aggregate on our own server, without cookies, accounts or tracking identifiers: a daily total per action (for example, how many times a button was used). It does not record your IP address, your searches, what you type, or anything that could identify you, and it does not use third-party analytics services. It also honours a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal from your browser. This counting is switched off unless the team turns it on, and we will update this page if that changes. The presentation viewer sends no analytics at all.
Cookies
Visiting the public site does not set any cookies. A single sign-in cookie exists only in the internal area used by our team; visitors never receive it.
Changes and contact
We will update this page as the site changes. To reach us, use the Contact page.
